SIS modernization is one of the most consequential challenges facing higher education right now. Whether you’re mid-migration, evaluating options, or wondering how everyone else is managing, most institutions are navigating this largely in the dark.
HEUG was founded over 20 years ago by institutions that needed help with PeopleSoft and didn’t want to figure it out alone. Same mission today, slightly different tools. We’re still here to make sure no institution has to navigate this work by themselves.
We launched the SIS Modernization Pulse Survey because the community deserves better than anecdote and assumption. With 55 responses already in, something real is taking shape: a collective picture of where higher ed actually stands, what’s working, where institutions are stuck, and what resources would genuinely help. Our goal is 500 responses, and every one moves the needle.
That data becomes a SIS Modernization Benchmark Report, built for the whole community. Not a vendor white paper. Peer data, from practitioners who are living this.
If you’ve been through a modernization, you know something someone else needs to hear. If you’re in the middle of one, your experience right now is exactly what this report needs. And if you’re just starting to ask the questions, your perspective matters too.
Respondents get early access to the report before it goes to the broader community. But more than that, you get to be part of building something the whole field can use.
This is how HEUG works best: when the community shows up for each other.
