We’re excited to share the results of the HEUG Board of Directors election for the 2026–2029 term! Following a vote by the HEUG membership, two outstanding leaders have been elected to fill the open Board positions:
Cheri McEntee
Associate Director of Enterprise Applications, Syracuse University
Ben Frazee
Executive Director of Enterprise Applications, Vanderbilt University
Both Cheri and Ben bring deep experience, long-standing commitment to HEUG, and a shared passion for collaboration and innovation in higher education technology. We are thrilled to welcome them into their roles and grateful to our members for taking part in this important process.
Cheri McEntee: Continuing Leadership Through Experience and Service
Cheri McEntee will continue her service on the HEUG Board, maintaining her position for a second consecutive term. With more than 30 years of experience in higher education technology, Cheri offers unparalleled institutional knowledge across Campus Solutions (CS), Human Capital Management (HCM), and Financials (FIN).
As Associate Director of Enterprise Applications at Syracuse University, Cheri works closely with functional and technical teams to prioritize and deliver university-wide initiatives. Her leadership within HEUG spans its entire history, including service on advisory groups, the Alliance planning team, the Executive Board, and the HEUG Board of Directors with a focus on education initiatives.
Cheri shared her motivation to continue serving the community:
“I am excited to continue serving the HEUG community through a Board role, driven by a passion for collaboration, innovation, and shared learning. These roles have deepened my commitment to HEUG’s mission and equipped me to support its strategic direction.”
Looking ahead, Cheri emphasized her action-oriented approach and commitment to member engagement:
“If elected to the HEUG Board, I will bring a strategic, action-oriented approach rooted in over 30 years of experience in higher education technology… I am committed to helping HEUG evolve and thrive through strategic leadership, inclusive engagement, and actionable results.”

Ben Frazee: From Appointed Board Member to Elected Leader
Ben Frazee has been elected to his first full three-year term on the HEUG Board of Directors, following his current one-year appointed term (2025–2026). Ben serves as Executive Director of Enterprise Applications in Vanderbilt IT, where he leads teams responsible for enterprise systems, collaboration services, and application development and integration.
Ben brings extensive experience in enterprise transformation, organizational change, and strategic planning. His work at Vanderbilt includes implementing a comprehensive ERP and HCM system, unifying multiple IT organizations into a single division, and leading complex system separations and modernization efforts.
Ben spoke to what drives his interest in Board service:
“Ben is motivated by a deep commitment to advancing higher education through innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence… He believes deeply in the power of community to drive progress and innovation.”
On what he hopes to contribute as an elected Board member, Ben shared:
“If elected to the HEUG Board of Directors, [I would] bring a strategic, solutions-oriented mindset grounded in decades of leadership in higher education technology… ensuring that technology decisions align with institutional missions and deliver measurable value.”
We’re excited to see Ben continue his Board service in this expanded role and bring his strategic perspective to HEUG’s future.
