As we get ready to kick off a new membership year, I’m excited to fill you in on some of the new initiatives and member benefits the HEUG has in the works for this year. First and foremost, we value your feedback, based off of information we gathered from the listening sessions done both online and during Alliance and the member satisfaction surveys you all completed we have already begun to launch new initiatives for change.
First, we realized we need to do a better job communicating the direction and goals of the organization. HEUG board decided to have a more frequent cadence with the membership to outline our direction, strategy and to give frequent updates about the projects we are focused on over the next 12 months. We kicked off our first roadmap last week, if you missed it, make sure to listen to the recording https://www.heug.org/viewdocument/heug-community-roadmap.
Here is our commitment and focus for the 2022-2023 fiscal year:
Membership
We are getting ready to launch the 2022-2023 membership dues and your HEUG membership provides you with access to a broad collection of tools, content, and other practical resources, professional development opportunities in many topics and formats, and a smart and vibrant community of peers—all to help you do your job better.
In addition, we are offering a limited time promotion, if you renew your membership during the month of May you will be able to secure the Alliance 2022 Early bird rate for Alliance 2023 in St. Louis. More details will be sent out on May 4th with the membership renewal announcement.
Education
On top of the 65+ webinars and community discussions we offer annually, this year the HEUG is putting a strong focus on expanding our professional development, certification, micro credentialing and training offerings. I’m currently working with Cheri McEntee HEUG Education Chair and Tesha Vera, HEUG Education and Program Manager to build out new training offerings that we intend to launch this fall. To start we are going to be focused on offering tracks around Query, Business Analysist Training, Data Management, Integrations and Security.
Additionally, we are going to continue to work with our strategic partners to bring added value to your membership and additional education offerings this year!
- Info-Tech is currently offering a trial membership to all HEUG members, in case you missed this communication you can access the offer here: https://go.infotech.com/HEUG. Additionally, Info-tech is currently working on a 4-part education series that will be free to our paid members, we should have more information out on this series in the next couple weeks.
- By popular demand we will continue to partner with Beyond Academics to offer more ThinkSpace events and looking into opportunities to expand, we are currently working with Matt and team to get these on the HEUG calendar.
- Tambellini is also offering a Higher Education Summit Series that is available to HEUG members, the first summit in the series is on May 26thand will focus on Student Systems and features top product strategy and development executives in the market. We are excited about our partnerships and expanding our education offerings, making the HEUG is the first place you think of for training and development. Stay tuned for more to come!
Website & Community
We understand that the website can be tough to navigate at times, we are in the process of launching a new UI that will be focused on showcasing the content that you are most interested in. During the launch of the new UI we will be taking time to review navigation and search capabilities to make sure you are easily able to get to the information you are searching for.
In addition to the website changes we will be launching some new communities this that are focused on business practices across campus and not specific to product, be on the look out for these new communities to launch in the July timeframe.
Regional Conferences
Lastly, we heard you and the need for in person regional events to make a comeback in 2022. We are in the process of working with the HEUG Board and our regional committees to bring these in person events. We are committed to providing you superb content from our many member institutions and partners! More information to come but be on the look out for dates and details soon!
